So the other day I ran into an interesting problem while trying to pin a program to the Windows 7 taskbar. Usually I right-click on an open application and say “Pin this program to the entire taskbar”:
Unfortunately, something happened or I did something wrong, but this option is no longer there! So I bought to drag the icon to the taskbar, thinking it would work when it doesn’t work either! Instead, I got a red round shield that prevented me from placing the part in the system tray. I thought someone was wrong with the registry. I’ve tried removing duplicate content, overlaying arrows on desktop icons, and messing around with the Windows Registry. This could probably have other reasons, but the point is that there is a registry that is believed to be an IsShortcut value that was accidentally deleted.

Method 1 – Repair Link Arrows
Why can’t I pin a program to the taskbar?
If you’re having trouble pinning certain programs to the entire taskbar, it might seem like the program isn’t installed correctly. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app if necessary, and then see if you can successfully add it to the taskbar. Also check if your company can pin other apps or not.
If you’ve used a program to fix the removal of arrows on desktop tokens, ideally the first thing to try is to repair those workarounds. If you’ve used a third party program, just use this show to undo the deletion. Then finally try restarting your computer and try to bind the program to the taskbar type.
Method 2 – Value
Open the registry editor for the registry by launching it and typing regedit. Then navigate to the next key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT lnkfile
In the right pane, right-click and select New – String Value (REG_SZ) as the result. Give the new object a d An additional name, the IsShortcut string, and leave it blank. That’s all. Now restart your computer. Check if you can pin items to support the taskbar.

Method 3. Perform A System Restore
If Method 1 didn’t work for you, you can try soft recovery. If the problem is recent, recovery will work. If you have had a version for a long time, trying to restore it may not work if you can’t find another far enough away.

Method 4. Activate Programs Pinned To The Taskbar
How do I add pins to the taskbar in Windows 7?
To pin a specific important program to the Windows taskbar, simply drag and drop a technology onto it, or right-click each program’s icon and selectSelect “Pin to taskbar.”

Where are pinned taskbar shortcuts stored Windows 7?
Taskbar shortcuts are located at:% AppData% Microsoft Internet Explorer Quick Launch User Pinned TaskBar. You will also likely add the Quick Launch directory to the taskbar as an important toolbar for re-enabling the Quick Launch feature.
If you’ve used your program to remove shortcut arrows from desktop icons, the first thing you should try is how to restore those arrows. If your organization has used a third-party program, simply use that program to undo the deletion. Then try restarting your electronic computer and try pinning a particular program to the taskbar.
Method Only – Value
Open the registry in a registry editor by launching it and typing regedit. Then access the following buttons:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT lnkfile
In the right pane, go to the Advanced section and right-click, then select New – String Value (REG_SZ). Name the new member and the IsShortcut line contains no value. That’s all. Now go upstairs and restart your computer. Make sure you can now add items with a personal ID to the taskbar.
If we don’t have the benefit of having a record at allInkFile on your computer, try some of the other options below.
Method 3. Perform A System Restore
If method 1 did not work, you can simply try performing a system restore. If the most effective problem is recent, recovery is likely to work. While the problem has usually been around for a long time, recovery may not work if you can’t find your way back.
