There doesn’t seem to be any indication of a hardware equivalent to the DirectX version. It’s just a shame, especially for old hardware. Of course, everyone knows which *current* sound card works with the *current* bundled version of DirectX, but what will actually be “relevant” in a few years? In a year, two or even three, no one will be able to say that. Because everyone is very focused on the *current* version.
How do I download microsoft DirectX?
Download the latest version of DirectX. Go to the Microsoft DirectX End-User Runtime web installer page. Click the Download button to view the exact dxwebsetup.exe file. Follow the instructions to download and install the dxwebsetup.exe folder to get the latest version with DirectX.
As an example, I’m trying to figure out which sound cards will end up compatible with DirectX 9.0c as I’m still using my Windows XP PC.As a result, I cannot use a sound card that uses DirectX 10 or 11.
But there seems to be *no* Wikipedia article telling me which DirectX variant you’re considering, Creative Audicy cards do a fine job of that, for example. Or even older PCI128 greeting cards from the same manufacturer.
How do I get DirectX 10?
Press one of the Windows logo keys on your keyboard and type check. Then click Check for Updates.Click Check for updates.Follow the on-screen instructions to have Windows Update automatically obtain and install the latest version of DirectX for you (included with updates).
This is pretty much an example. Since there is no compatibility list, it’s simply impossible to know which products are compatible with which version of DirectX – except for the “latest” of all of ours.
How do I check my DirectX version Vista?
Click Start, then Run.Type dxdiag and click OK.On the System tab, note the DirectX version displayed in the DirectX Version row.
This is especially discouraging to me, because everything Computer-related topics on Wikipedia contain so much related information that someone who just wants to use a computer for running just isn’t interested. I recently saw a list of PDF reader-like versions called “Foxit Reader” in a German Wikipedia article on the subject, which lists *all* type numbers.I thought that if the authors paid special attention to the details of cultural records, Wikipedia would be a much better read.I write typologically because it annoys me that this richness of detail is often not “used” even with DirectX. If people can write all sorts of version histories for software, why can’t they also write compatibility inclusions? I thought it would be feasible for geeks who are also interested in the lowest version number of the new kernel to make a list of exactly which hardware component, where it is listed here on Wikipedia, is compatible with which version. usually connected with DirectX.

- I think they are still “cross-platform” in the sense that they will probably work with different versions of Windows and some “light” OS, non-CE variants of Windows. Also Xbox 360) (and use a superset with the DirectX API, so they can be considered cross-platform in that respect as well. But they are not just globally cross-platform for all systems, including Mac OS, Linux, PS3). or the Wii. But this will probably be explained later in this article. Calling them “cross-platform” is not entirely inaccurate, as it leaves out some types. — Frecklefσσt Talk | 17:00, 09 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, it could be an “omniplatform” (probably a neologism), so…
- I definitely like calling DX a good “oligo-platform” API (another Neolog issue, *sigh*), and actuallyYou could say that this Xbox is nothing more than an IBM-compatible PC useful on a complex platform. with devices of an unusual type, so DX is currently a “single platform”. I think that’s what all the authors of the IP had in mind. Remarks? – (it hurts ¡oops! or more pain) 10:49 next April 11 (UTC)
- Regarding Windows CE, CE DX is probably too small a “subset” (a cautionary understatement) so that DX and CE DX cannot be considered as one. They may have similar connections, but they are like Fiat A and Ferrari. Hardly the same product. – Ouch! (I’m in pain more pain) 10:49 AM, April 11, New Year’s Day (UTC)
